We are really delighted with the grades our pupils have achieved. For many subjects this was the first year of the new exam courses, but results in Science, History, Geography and Languages appear to be very good – we think that 47% of pupils achieved the full “EBacc”, which would be a new record for us. Results among the high attainers appear to be very strong generally, with 41% of the new numerical grades being 7, 8 or 9 (equivalent to A or A*) and 37% of pupils achieving at least 5 Grade 7s/As. Overall, 81% of pupils achieved what are now called “The Basics” (standard passes in English and Maths).
It is early days and the calculations are complicated, but our progress figure is looking higher than it did at this point last year.
We had lots of outstanding individual performances, including two pupils who achieved Grade 9s in every subject they took. I would like to congratulate them and all the other pupils and staff whose hard work has led to these great results.
