We believe that Mathematics and its use, is fundamental for everyday life. The need to be numerate is an essential life skill.
As a department, we aim to inspire our pupils to use Mathematics to make sense of the world around them. Solving problems mathematically can help improve logical thinking, decision making and potential employability.
We strive to provide the best learning environment for our pupils to succeed and be aspirational. Our pupils regularly work in collaboration with their peers to assess their learning and track their progress in order to recognise their strengths and areas for improvement.
In both Key stage 3 and 4, the Mathematics syllabus follows five main themes:
Ratio and proportion
Geometry and measures
Probability and statistics
