At GCSE level, pupils follow the AQA course in Psychology. The course is made up of 80% examination and 20% coursework. A variety of topics are covered, for example: Cognitive Development, Social Psychology, Moral Development, Perception, Memory and Learning. Pupils are taught a wide range of skills including: Research Methods, Experimental Evaluation, Ethical Discussion and Critical Thinking. Examinations are taken at the end of the course. Pupils are entered for one of two tiers, Higher or Foundation, according to ability.
