Coronavirus Update

The school has established a COVID Protocol  which follows the guidance issued by the Department for Education which can be found here https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/actions-for-schools-during-the-coronavirus-outbreak/guidance-for-full-opening-schools.

The principles we will follow to keep our pupils, staff and visitors safe are:

  • Making sure that people who are ill stay at home.
  • Making sure everyone practises good hygiene techniques, frequent and thorough handwashing, insistence on “catch it, kill it, bin it” for coughs and sneezes.
  • Cleaning the school even more intensively, with additional cleaning staff and equipment, paying particular attention to public spaces, toilets and touch points. We will all, staff and pupils, need to play our part in keeping our school safe.
  • Active engagement with NHS Test and Trace arrangements.
  • Adjusting school routines to reduce contacts amongst those on site. We will do this by keeping year groups separate as much as possible, particularly at the start and end of the day and at lunchtimes.

The best defence against Coronavirus remains regular and thorough washing of hands using soap and water.

More advice is available at https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/healthy-body/best-way-to-wash-your-hands/

Anyone who suspects that they have symptoms of the Coronavirus should immediately isolate at home and follow the guidance published here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance.

Please see the attached World Health Organisation guide for Covid/Flu/Cold Symptoms.

Kings' Online Open Event

We are delighted to announce that Kings’ has launched its first ever virtual Open Event.

We invite you to join us for our online virtual event via our brand new YouTube Channel.  This channel can be found by searching for Kings’ School Virtual Open Event on YouTube or by clicking the flier above.

Our online virtual event will give families the opportunity to explore Kings’ from the comfort of their own homes.  The channel includes a virtual tour of the school, department videos, a video message from our Acting Headteacher and some of our current pupils.

We also welcomed families to ask us questions, as part of our Q&A session, which was recorded on Wednesday 16th September.  Our panel of key members of staff were able to respond to the questions and offer their opinions and advice during this session.  This Q&A video can now be viewed on our YouTube channel.  Please find a direct link here.

A Frequently Asked Question & Answer section has also been added to our website for families to refer to.  The answers within this document relate to our normal way of working at Kings’ School.  Our current amendments to usual practice can be found in our COVID Protocol, elsewhere on the school website.

We apologise that we are unable to hold our Open Events in September in their usual format but hope that you understand and will support our new online virtual open event.

We were unable to add either our German and Health and Social Care/ Child Development videos during the launch of our YouTube channel.  If you would like to watch these, please click on the subject names above.  Enjoy!
