Poetry Live Event at The Hexagon, Reading
The English Department is organising a chance for pupils in Year 11 to participate in Poetry Live at The Hexagon
Pupils will have the opportunity to listen to poets such as Carol Ann Duffy and Simon Armitage read their poems, and also ask the poets questions relating to their work. The proposed visit will take place on Thursday the 23rd of January 2020, leaving Kings’ at 9am and returning at approximately 4.30 pm. We will be travelling with Lucketts
Coaches and the cost of travel and ticket to the event is £35 per pupil.
Please note that there will be two ten minute breaks and a thirty minute lunch break. Pupils will not be allowed to leave the Theatre premises at any time and therefore they should bring a packed lunch for the day.
Furthermore, all pupils attending the event will be in school uniform and we expect that our pupils represent the school positively and follow school rules regarding uniform and behaviour. The Theatre has asked schools
attending to make pupils aware that photography, camera recording and chewing gum are not permitted on the premises. Please note that pupils should not bring any electrical equipment with them on the day, including MP3 players, as they will be confiscated by the attending teachers. Mobile phones must be switched off at all times, if they are seen or heard at any point they will also be confiscated until the end of the day.
We will return to school after the school buses have left so pupils will need to arrange their own way home at 4.30pm.
If you would like your son/daughter to take part in the event, please complete the slip below or the online reply slip
