Year 8 Geography Trip to Kew Gardens – Tues 4th, Wed 5th & Thurs 6th Feb 2020
We are hoping to offer pupils in Year 8 the chance to go on an exciting Geography Trip to Kew
Gardens in February. The trip is geographical in its emphasis. We will examine tropical
environments and plant adaptations. It will be necessary to ask for a voluntary contribution to
cover the cost of the trip. I am sure that you will understand that unless sufficient voluntary
contributions are received, the visit may not take place since we have no alternative source of
The Kew Gardens trip will run on Tues 4th, Wed 5th & Thurs 6th Feb 2020.
The trip will leave Kings’ at 9.00 am and return at about 4.15 pm. The cost will be £25 payable
via ParentPay to cover the coach journey, the entry fee and the photocopying of the worksheets.
The work will involve investigating activities at Kew related to rainforests. Pupils should be in
full school uniform; no phones or cameras are the pupil’s own responsibility. Packed lunches
and waterproofs must be brought.
Pupils wishing to take part will need to bring their completed slips to reception by Friday
24th January 2020, or complete the online reply slip below
There are 135 places which will be selected at random if the trip is over subscribed.
Those who secure a place will receive a letter requesting payment by ParentPay.

Finally, your child’s photograph may be used in displays and other educational presentations. If
